Hot....

Time marches on....and im trying to get round the garden and find stuff as much as I can....not that there is always something to see....however...the weather has certainly been hot the past few days and hopefully the rainy weather about to descend will be short lived...

First up...Large Red Damselfly, Pyrrhosoma nymphula....here are an amorous couple....in fact there were two pairs around the pond at the same time a day or so ago but I havent seen them since....hopefully they have done the business and next year will see some damselfy emergence....although I am still fairly hopeful for this year....

After a couple of days of heat I had time to put the trap out....I was out looking at birds or ringing the other days, so see my other blogs for more information on that....

....some new species for the year have now cropped up at last....so it should be all systems go from here on in with the gradual build up toward the heady days of July and August when insects will be at their zenith...

This next moth is down in the book as 'not common'....at the present time I have no idea how 'not common' it is...er...or isnt here in Pembury....I think it may be a new one for the garden anyway but need to check up on last years list...

The Clouded Border, (scroll back up), is obviously named as are many of the moths....this one is brown and those lines could be silver-like...so it must be a...
