Small Elephant Hawkmoth at the back with four Elephant Hawkmoths for company
I always believed I should catch more moths here, more rural, larger garden, darker....this, for me, is a record Hawkmoth haul in one evening....
If this was a little more fresh it would have a rather nice red line along the rear of the wing...however, its coming to the end of its flight season though theres always the chance of a second wave later...
Green Silver-lines
Im really admiring these carbonaria Peppered Moths and this one has to be the blackest of the two I have caught so far....these are real Darwin Theory of Evolution moths and I have to say I find that really exciting. Im assuming there is a population of these darker specimens around here due to the past coal mining activity locally which I will have to investigate more. The mining activity was brought to my attention on the surveyors report when we purchased the house.

Finally, another new moth! Fabulous!! This one is a Barred Red. The markings could be a little stronger admittedly, but all the same, nice to see.
