Not a huge amount to report really.....the usual Dunnock, Robin and Blackbirds are around the garden....there always seems to be plenty of Goldfinch action around the area (in fact, I find most places I go locally around the Tunbridge Wells area there always seems to be plenty of Goldfinch calling)....
There has been a fabulous display by a Greenfinch recently showing off with flight and calling displays over the garden. There was also a Blackcap singing for a day around the local gardens either side of ours though it now seems to have moved on. Must have been a late arrival.
Hopefully over the next few years the garden will become more and more bird friendly as we are planning to put in some trees and shrubs that should add much needed height.
First Large Red Damsel at my pond today Graham.
ReplyDeletePS I can recommend putting an elder tree in your garden, I have had numerous warblers in mine over the years, all feeding on the berries. These trees grow fast as well, so quick rewards, but they are a short lived tree unless you keep them pollarded :-)
