A sort of home....

A visit to London Zoo a few days ago with my little boy was very exciting....probably for all concerned!!
As you know I used to live in Hastings.  The town now envelops St Leonards, much of which was designed by Decimus Burton.  I was casually reading one of the leaflets given to us at the entrance and found out that he designed a great deal of the zoo.  However, much has been re-designed or bombed since.  Here are three of the things left that he designed:

Three Island Pond

First Aid Post

Giraffe House

Something I was quite thrilled to see, as I have been trying to trap one of them since I started moth trappin in Hastings (though I dont think I stand too much chance here this far inland as its more likely to turn up on the coast in October-ish)...

Deaths Head Hawk-moth
