Spider, soon-to-be-frogs and a really small newt....

Heres a few pictures that I took this week....I do try to keep up with other things in the garden as well as the moths...

First up.....a tiny spider that my wife found on one of the tomato plants...good place to hide if you are a green spider.....

Green Orb-Weaver, Araniella cucurbitina

We weren't really sure of the state of play re the tadpoles in the pond....last year they seemed to disappear so we assumed that they had all been consumed....when we changed the pond liner there were 12 frogs of various sizes found, so maybe some of the survived and came back to the pond this year....we found 4 or 5 of these large tadpoles at the warm edges the other day....

Common Frog tadpole, Raha temporaria

Last up....a juvenile newt....it really is very, very small....I certainly hope that there is more than just the one as there were 12 newts in the pond as well...

Smooth Newt, Lissotriton vulgaris
