Having put the bird feeders out a few weeks ago it was somewhat surprising to find so little on them. In fact, nothing sometimes. I suppose it hasnt helped that the weather has been warm warm warm. I saw it reported that we had the warmest November on record.
The few windscreen scraping mornings seem to have temporarily disappeared, im certainly hoping for them back to encourage birds here and ringing over at the orchard.
So...after last nights wind and rain event it was somewhat nice to see a good number of birds using the garden and feeders. They must have been blown around and moved on I guess.
6 Blackbirds were in the garden continually for a few hours, a Wren showed itself and at least 2 Dunnocks. There have been 2 Goldfinch on the feeders for a couple of days now but I found at least 4 with some Greenfinch there today. The House Sparrows were also in the garden, spending more time on the grass than ive seen this winter.
The highlight was 2 Redwings and a male Blackcap.
Good to know that some birds have turned up around your feeders at last, Graham. Hope they can be added to & that you have a good netting/ringing session.
